The past that meets the present and gives life to the future. To the rhythm of music and laughter, mixed with emotion and amarcord for a good cause. The one married by the former students with the reunion of the Salerno high school Francesco Severi, to shine a different light on the eastern zone institute. A Saturday evening of fun with a mission: to get together and shake hands, between generations. Over 6000 euros raised and a lot of entertainment for over 600 participants who met at Sea Garden to dance, sing at the top of their lungs and find “an excuse to go home” despite the distance of a generation that had to chase its dreams elsewhere. However, there is no obstacle to the attraction and thrill of meeting friends who have shared the best years. The fund – delivered to principal Barbara Figliolia present at the evening – is the proceeds from tickets sold and will be entirely donated to Severi. In addition to the manager, teachers and institute representatives were present to whom the check was symbolically handed over. «The transfer will be made in September when thanks to Monica Beraglia, record woman of tickets sold and to the former student Maria Parisi – declared the organizers – we will plant “roots in the future” in the school garden». And among the amarcords there was also room for emotion: one of the most emotional moments was the screening of the video made by Maurizio Napoli, Nicola Landolfi and Luca Sanso where the late Paolo Masullo is also present (Rosa Masullo was also present, with her son Gianluca): images of the time and the photo that started it all: the Severi writing from the Tower of Pisa composed by the student body.

THE PRIDE
«Organizing the party was a bit like taking that photo because, when we got together from an idea launched together with me by Nicola Landolfi, Monica Di Mauro and Marco Adamo – said Maurizio Napoli – we were not sure that the result could be to bring together 600 people, many of whom came from all of Europe and Italy: Denmark, Belgium and then Bologna, Milan, Parma, Reggio Emilia and Rome». Among those present the municipal councilor Tea Siano and Franco Picarone while among the curious the president of the Salernitana Community foundation, Antonia Autuori. One of the stars was Mrs. Rosaria, the school assistant who has accompanied and followed the students since 1967. «An indelible character, she is 88 years old today – the former students underlined – as her habit was very elegant and she remembered everyone starting from her pupil Nicola Landolfi. She left when the party was almost over.” The great emotion was finding the Prof Mario Postiglione, history and philosophy teacher loved by all, in the company of his son Fabio, also a former Unisa student and professor.

THE EVENING
Lots of space for dancing: among the wildestthe lawyer Simone Labonia, tireless dancer, the entrepreneur Paolo Fiorillo with his wife Simona Cataldo but also Paolo Riccelli, Mario Pisapia, Francesco Marino and Mario Rogato. The evening was opened by Massimo De Luca’s Mads group and former students with musical passion took turns on stage: Ennio Parisi, Elia Vertino, Peppe Vigliotta, Biagio Marinelli, Vincenzo De Tommaso and Antonella Frangione. Finally a special “link” with the Santa Caterina high school and the 1985 student movement was created by Agostino Della Valle and Tommaso Scargiglia. DJ Marco Montefusco has the task of playing songs selected through a social survey. And as dawn broke… Albachiara by Vasco Rossi it created a magical atmosphere.

It’s already time for the second edition: «There is no organizing committee – concluded Maurizio Napoli – just a group of friends who at the beginning believed in a dream that seemed impossible and which came true. We hope we can use this positive energy to do other good things.”
