He was traveling along the Aurelia variant heading north just before the exit of Viareggio South with his scooter when it was hit by a pirate car. A 63 year old man resident in Pisa is now hospitalized in serious conditions at the Cisanello hospital. The accident occurred yesterday evening, Thursday 9 May 2024.

The man was rescued first by some motorists and then by 118 health personnel. After the collision between the car and his scooter, the driver walked away leaving the 63-year-old in the middle of the road, with the risk of being hit by oncoming cars. The police are now hunting for the hit-and-run driver.
