Established in 1901, the honor of Knight of Labor is awarded every year on the occasion of Republic Day to Italian entrepreneurs who have distinguished themselves in the five sectors of agriculture, industry, commerce, craftsmanship and credit and insurance activities.

The requirements necessary to be awarded the honor are to have operated in one’s sector continuously and for at least twenty years with independent responsibility, and to have contributed significantly, through business development, to economic and social growth and innovation.

Particular attention is paid to the values ​​that are the basis of the honor: the mirrored moral and civil conduct, in compliance with ethical principles and social, environmental sustainability and good governance. Since the early 2000s he has been guiding its development through the acquisitions of approximately 50 Italian and foreign companies, including in the last two years Tesi Elettronica e Sistemi Informativi, specialized in the creation of IT solutions for the world of healthcare, and Evolucare, a French software provider active in the healthcare sector.

It operates with a headquarters in Trento and 50 operational offices throughout the country. It serves approximately 9,000 customers between healthcare companies and hospitals, private clinics, diagnostic centers, Regions and Provinces. It employs 4,800 people.
