The PD city councilors Manuela Lozza, PD Varese city secretary and Giacomo Fisco, PD group leader in the city council intervene on the Aermacchi affair, after the announced stop to the reclamation works and the progress of the project.
«The story of the redevelopment of the former Aermacchi highlights once again the predominant role of the Superintendencies in many initiatives in our country. In fact, we note that, two years after the Meloni Government took office, the situation linked to the steps necessary for the works financed by the PNRR or by other public or private resources has only become more complicated. This risks alienating entrepreneurs who want to invest, as in the case of the former Aermacchi area, and losing development opportunities with the use of funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan”, comment Lozza and Fisco.
«The redevelopment of the former Aermacchi is one of those interventions that the city, and in particular the neighborhood, has been waiting for for decades. The Galimberti administration has worked hard in recent years so that the redevelopment could take place and today that the intervention is underway it is already changing the face of the city and in any case the reclamation is already an important result. The many benefits linked to the demolition of abandoned buildings and the reclamation of the area are there for all to see. For decades the residents of the neighborhoods of Masnago, Brunella and part of the city center have had to live with those abandoned structures and with the asbestos present, which has now been reclaimed”, continues the note.
«Yet in recent years the intervention has been continuously opposed by some of the minority political forces, first of all the exponents of Fratelli d’Italia who have continuously tried to stop the progress of the works. Only a few days ago a new question arrived from councilor Giordano which once again calls the intervention into question. A few hours later the communication arrived from the Superintendency which depends on the Ministry of Culture, presided over by Minister San Giuliano, a member of the Brothers of Italy. You know, thinking badly is a sin, but some doubts arise spontaneously. We therefore hope, and hope, that in the next few days the public interest will prevail over political interests, which frankly the citizens, and residents of Masnago and the surrounding area who today see the reclamation underway, would struggle to understand.
