Fortitudo Pallacanestro is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement to entrust the technical guidance of Fortitudo Flats Service to Mr. Devis Cagnardi.
Born in Pisogne on 17 February 1976, Devis Cagnardi began coaching in 2006 at Pall. Reggiana (where he remained until summer 2019), carrying out the entire process of youth categories and holding the position first of assistant, then of head coach.
With Pall. Reggiana, Cagnardi won – as assistant – the Eurochallenge in 2014 and participated (the following year) in the Eurocup and reached the LBA championship final, lost against Dinamo Sassari.
In the 2015/16 season, again as assistant coach in Reggio Emilia, the coach of Lombard origins won the Italian Super Cup and participated again in the Eurocup, reaching the second consecutive championship final, lost against Milan.
In June 2019, having become permanent head coach, Cagnardi moved to Fortitudo Agrigento, in Serie A2, where he led a truly excellent season, leading the Sicilian team to second place in the standings – behind Torino – before the interruption due to the pandemic.
In the 2020/21 season, the coach from Brescia led Blu Orobica Treviglio while, in the following year, he moved to Bergamo where he reached the playoff semi-final.
In the 2022/23 season, Cagnardi returned to Sicily, once again leading the newly promoted Fortitudo Agrigento in Serie A2, achieving a safety that was far from certain with four days to spare.
Finally, in the last sports season, Cagnardi held the role of head coach of Pallacanestro Cantù, with which he reached both the playoff final (lost against Trieste) and the Final Four of the Italian Cup.
Experience and knowledge of this championship, important mentality and solid defensive attitude in all the teams he has coached so far, Devis Cagnardi is ready to immediately make himself available to Fortitudo. And Fortitudo can’t wait to start again.
