A positive balance, where the satisfaction for the goals achieved surpasses the bitterness for those that were lost. Giovanni Blanco, player-coach of Ecoplast volleyball Gela, gives an overview of the season that just ended with the elimination from the playoff semi-final by Gupe. A team that has demonstrated that it has considerable strength, after finishing the regular season in third place in a championship, that of Serie C, faced as a freshman.
«It was a splendid season, full of joys and satisfactions but also of sacrifices – says Blanco -. We are happy with what we have built, we started the championship thinking of reaching a good position in the standings and instead we reached an unexpected goal, a journey unfortunately interrupted one step away from the playoff final. I am proud of all the athletes, they have shown a strong attachment to the shirt.”
There was no shortage of difficult moments: «Despite the many difficulties and unforeseen events typical of a championship – underlines Blanco -, we have and have managed to keep the group homogeneous and complete the Serie C championship. We are ready to work and improve the gaps this season, reinforcing our weak points. How can we not thank our Title sponsor “Ecoplast” which gives many young athletes the opportunity to experience the emotions that only our sport can give.
