Marco Manfrinati, accused of the murder of his father-in-law Fabio Limido and the attempted murder of his ex-wife Lavinia Limido, was met on Tuesday afternoon by his lawyer Fabrizio Busignani who found it “proven”. A difficult interview, from which the lawyer does not reveal much else other than the physical conditions of his client who was in hospital, treated for previous injuries upon entering the Varese prison.
The late afternoon news is that the hearing to validate the arrest will take place in Miogni prison on Wednesday at 11.30 in the presence of Dr. Alessandro Chionna, judge for the preliminary investigations and of course the defender. What will Manfrinati say? We’ll know after the hearing. The defender does not go unbalanced: “We need to reconstruct a fact”.
Naturally, the number one question remains: but what drove Marco Manfrinati to make the gesture on Monday in Casbeno? On an emotional level, the wife of poor Fabio Limido herself intends to clear away any doubts: anyone among her interlocutors who tries to approach what happened to explain the “crazy gesture” is immediately blocked: «What crazy gesture? We are not faced with the behavior of a madman. We are talking about a person who expresses himself in perfect English, who speaks four languages and who has worked on international contracts. He is not a madman, be careful with his words”, he explains Marta Criscuolo. Once the doubts have been cleared away – at least those that common sense and the pain of a mother can dispel – then there is, there must be an explanation for the cause that triggered Monday’s ambush.
The same lawyer Criscuolo, again on this point, was very useful to the investigators, in particular to the doctor Maria Claudia Contini, Varese public prosecutor who is coordinating the investigations. The woman “was invaluable in reconstructing what happened”, explained the prosecutor of Varese Antonio Gustapane which also specifies a possible motive linked to the events in via Menotti.
