The Sp Braccio Treja reopens to traffic

CIVITA CASTELLANA – This morning the Braccio Treja provincial road in Civita Castellana, temporarily closed in recent weeks due to the fall of a tuff boulder, was reopened to vehicular traffic.

Following the incident, the Province of Viterbo intervened immediately to resolve the problem and reopen the road in question to traffic.

In a short time, the technicians of the Province of Viterbo carried out operations to remove the unsafe boulders from the ridge adjacent to the road and to clean the shrubs and unsafe vegetation. The interventions are completed and the road is ready to be reopened.

«I thank all the employees of the road sector in the province of Viterbo who once again showed professionalism and great intervention skills, solving a serious problem for citizens in a short time», commented Alessandro Romoli, president of the Province of Viterbo. The safety and cleaning work on the SP76 Braccio Treia from the SS3 Flaminia to the Castel Sant’Elia crossroads, a section affected by a landslide a few weeks ago, was completed this morning. The road has been reopened to vehicular traffic. «It took a few weeks to make the stretch safe and to reopen the road to vehicular traffic – explains the mayor of Civita Castellana, Luca Giampieri -, but the work of the workers appointed by the Province was accurate and fast, to try to reduce to a minimum the inconvenience for the population”.

«The area has also been carefully cleaned, because after the mowing of the roadsides the edges and ditches are freed from the numerous waste found – concludes the mayor -. I thank the citizens for their patience and all those who worked to allow the reopening of SP Braccio Treia in a short time.”
