Cesena, “clandestine fighting in the station area”, but it was the set of a video for social media

Storm in a teacup. On Thursday, at the time of leaving school, in the bus parking area, two boys fought each other, complete with gloves. The students film them. It seems to be an “advertising” film that is certainly not in good taste, perhaps for a video of a trapper.

The film circulates, reaches Northern League member Fabio Biguzzi and the political case breaks out. He speaks of «Clandestine fighting or brawl?», leaning towards the first hypothesis. And he puts the train station area in his sights, “which has now become the focal point of city degradation”. He accuses the Lattuca council of “permissiveness, laxity and disinterest”. Even when he hears that there would be no fight he doesn’t change his mind, on the contrary. «If it is an advertisement for something it is even more serious. If everything was organized in order with the relevant permits, it is not clear why these were issued. If, however, no one knew anything about it, it is even worse and demonstrates once again that there is a lack of controls in the station area, even at the time when the children leave school.” Biguzzi recalls that «Exactly one year ago, I presented a question to the Council on clandestine fighting, not believing that they were a normal ‘thing’ in Cesena. I then called for prevention and control measures with the involvement of schools to combat this phenomenon. Evidently my concern was not shared. I think with apprehension about how the situation in Cesena could deteriorate: in fact, it is already clear that it cannot be stemmed either by a mere urban redevelopment project or by an irrelevant street education initiative.”

Mayor Enzo Lattuca was caustic on social media after seeing headlines about the fight: «It was a set of a video shot yesterday, a staging, not a real fight. I’m sorry for the approximation with which alarm is unnecessarily generated. It is even more unfortunate when this approximation comes from those who hold institutional roles. It’s clear that for the League the opportunity to attack the Administration was too tempting, during the election campaign… It was necessary to launch accusations immediately, without even bothering to find out and verify.”
