The serious road accident on Wednesday in Vezza d’Alba (Cuneo). The victims are two young German tourists. The man driving, a 36-year-old, was arrested: he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.7 grams per litre, more than three times higher than the permitted level.
Two girls died in a very serious accident that occurred yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 17 April, in Vezza d’Alba, Val Rubiagno region (Cuneo). The victims are two German tourists aged 35 and 32: they were traveling in an Audi A5 driven by a third person who was arrested for aggravated vehicular homicide by the Carabinieri of the Alba Company.
According to what has been reconstructed, the driver of the car, a 36-year-old, was traveling at high speed along the provincial road 287: he lost control of the vehicle at number 20 in the Val Rubiagno region and, following the results of the laboratory tests carried out at the at the Michele and Pietro Ferrero hospital in Verduno, he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.7 grams per litre, over three times higher than the permitted rate.
In addition to him and the two girls who died in the car, a fourth person was also traveling, a 36-year-old man resident in Germany who was injured. He is currently hospitalized in reserved prognosis at the Santa Croce e Carle hospital in Cuneo, where he was transported by air ambulance yesterday afternoon.

The driver of the car, however, is currently guarded at the Verduno hospital, at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Asti which is coordinating the investigations.
