PERUGIA – The 2024 fair call has been published in the Bur of the Umbria Region, an initiative of the economic development department of the Umbria Region aimed at supporting local businesses in order to actively support them in their internationalization path by offering them the resources necessary to exhibit their own products and services on an international scale and access new markets.
The call makes funds available to finance internationalization projects that include participation in up to a maximum of five trade fair events of an international nature, including digital ones, which will take place from May 2024 to March 2025, both in Europe and in non-EU countries. This strategic flexibility allows companies to adapt their trade fair presence to the specific needs of the target markets. One of the distinctive features of the announcement, compared to previous editions, is the provision of a greater contribution for fairs that will be held abroad. In fact, spending limits have been increased, reflecting the attention of the Umbria Region in opening up new market opportunities beyond European borders. Furthermore, the tender takes into account the increase in costs actually incurred by companies and a differentiation of the maximum eligible expenditure has been introduced. For fairs in Italy, the spending limit varies from 20 thousand to 25 thousand euros, while for fairs abroad the limit ranges from 25 thousand to 30 thousand euros, depending on the size of the stand, ensuring that the financing provided is adequate for specific needs of each participation.
One of the innovations of the announcement is the simplification of the procedures for participation in international fairs. For certified and non-certified international fairs, included in the list of the calendar approved by the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, it will no longer be necessary to provide any declaration from the organizing body demonstrating the international character of the fair. Finally, the reporting deadline for expenses incurred has been doubled so as to offer companies a greater margin of time to complete the required documentation, reducing the risks of bureaucratic delays.
The innovations made to the tender confirm the Regional Council’s commitment to giving concrete and updated support to Umbrian companies in their path of international expansion.
