From 11 to 31 May, on Friday and Saturday of each week, some Livorno photography protagonists will alternate between the City Museum and the Giovanni Fattori Civic Museum to talk about various aspects of their art. A new cycle of conferences on photography will enliven the weekends of the Livorno civic museums in the month of May. From 11th to 31st May, on Friday and Saturday of each week some Livorno photography protagonists will alternate between the City Museum and the Giovanni Fattori Civic Museum to talk about various aspects of their art. The photographic technique, thanks to its flexibility, lends itself to investigating the mechanisms of the image in numerous directions, from reportage, to news, to portraiture and art, and much more. The first date entitled Errante will be held on Saturday 11 May at 5pm at the Fattori Museum with Serafino Fasulo,

they will follow then Laura Sgherri (17 May at 5.30pm, Bottini dell’Olio cultural centre), Claudio Barontini (May 19th at 5pm, Fattori Museum), Chiara Cunzolo (24 May at 5.30 pm, Bottini dell’Olio cultural centre), Francesco Levy (25 May at 5pm, Fattori Museum), e Laura Lezza (May 31st at 5.30pm, Bottini dell’Olio cultural centre). The initiative is organized by the Municipality of Livorno with the Agave, Itinera and CoopCulture cooperatives. Participation is free.

photography. The series of conferences that will cover the Civic Museums every weekend in May will open on Saturday 11 May with Serafino Fasulo, with some meetings with the protagonists of photography in Livorno. The conference entitled Errante is an opportunity to talk about the latest two photographic publications Drop In and To keep you with me. Following in reverse the path taken at the end of the nineteenth century by his grandmother’s family, the author traveled along Highway 61 which leads from Chicago to New Orleans. Accompanied by the Blues, the Mississippi and some questions: what is the border between the river and the sea? How long do river and sea remain in balance before they cancel each other out? Questions that

for five years they took him to border areas, encountering landscapes, people and memories that merged into a single journey between road and memory, imagination and reality.

Serafino Fasulo, born in 1955, lives in Livorno. After a decade of commitment as a documentary filmmaker he dedicates himself to long-term photographic projects. Having graduated in Modern Languages ​​and Literatures at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of Pisa, he studied painting at the Trossi-Uberti Foundation in Livorno and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. He graduated from the “Cinema Laboratory” in Rome where he studied direction, photography, editing and filming. Among his works are documentaries on the new ethnic realities present on Italian territory made for the Sky satellite channel “Babel”. The medium-length films “La vierge à la barque” shot between Normandy and Corsica and “Pa, pa, te pup” (Bye, bye, I kiss you), a look at the Romanian community that lives between Tuscany and Romania. His articles and photographic reports have been published by national and sector magazines, such as “Focus In” and “Gente di Fotografia”. As a photographer he has participated in collective and personal exhibitions. Among the publications, the photographic books “Noi, Filippide” and “Volontariato”, “Drop In” and “To keep you with me”, travel diaries between borders, migrants and new horizons.
