New GM for the Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora

Simone D’Alessandro, from Abruzzo, forty-one years old, is the new general manager of the Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora by Salvatore Naldi, the historic hotel in via Vittorio Veneto n° 191 which is now entering a new phase. In his professional background, D’Alessandro, appointed by Dr. Francesco Naldi, Chief Operating Officer of the Salvatore Naldi Group, boasts experience of great depth, with roles carried out mainly in the capital but not only.

Having arrived in the world of hotels at the age of twenty-eight from the Food&Beverage universe, he has a degree in economics and management of tourism companies from the University of Perugia, followed by a training experience at Les Roches Hotel Management School in Switzerland and Crans-Montana, where he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma, and at the prestigious Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne where in 2021 he obtained an MBA. He began his career in luxury hospitality with more than a year’s management training at the Mandarin Oriental in London. Among his subsequent prestigious positions there is certainly the one at the Lungarno Collection in Florence owned by the Ferragamo family as Corporate Food & Beverage Manager and the one at the Hotel Excelsior in Venice as Director Food & Beverage. In Rome he then directed the Rocco Forte Hotel De La Ville as Hotel Manager from 2019 to 2023, where he also followed part of the pre-opening and renovation phase. From here he then moved for a short time to the Hotel De Russie, before meeting the Naldi family and thus arriving at the Hotel Flora. Also fundamental to his professional growth was the opening of the Gran Melia Villa Agrippina under the direction of GM Francesco Ascani in 2012, where as F&B Manager he led the team for four years, collaborating with the two Michelin star Chef Alfonso Iaccarino.

Other fundamental experiences of D’Alessandro’s career were the first assignment he returned to Italy from London at the Rome Marriott Park Hotel, where he was able to experiment with large-scale hôtellerie with conferences and banquets for 1500/2000 people and the one at the hotel Hassler of Piazza della Trinità dei Monti of the Wirth family as Restaurant Manager of the Palazzetto. In a common purpose with the Naldi family, D’Alessandro is ready to take on the many new challenges of a historic structure for the city of Rome such as the Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora “I am very very honored by this new challenge for all the projects in future, we hope to ensure that the Grand Hotel Flora enjoys a season of great success because it is a hotel of undisputed value, with a long and fascinating history.

With the whole team, we intend to start a new cycle of success. Via Veneto – continues the director – is experiencing a sort of Renaissance with the many new openings that represent the spirit of a new period and we want to be protagonists. There are major development and renovation plans that involve both the rooms and the restaurant: the Flora was born to be a luxury hotel and a first-rate player for the city!”.
