The sixteenth edition of “Corri Catania” was presented yesterday, the 5 km long walking race, open to all, on Sunday 12 May. During the press conference, in the presence of mayor Enrico Trantino And of the Sports councilor Sergio Parisithe program of this 2024 edition was illustrated in detail, such as the solidarity project, the route, and the collateral initiatives at the Corri Catania Village which will be set up in Piazza Università from Thursday 9 May.
Also present were some prominent sporting guests who have always supported the event, such as Salvatore “Tiger Eyes” Cavallarothe first from Catania who will take part in boxing at Olympic Games scheduled from the end of July in Paris, Giusi Malato, an important figure in Catania water polo, Salvo Campanella (fight) And Raimondo Alecci (table tennis).
This year’s solidarity project is called “Officina del Cuore”, in favor of Italian Red Cross-Catania Committee. The funds raised will be used to create an equipped cardiological area within the solidarity medical clinic of the Italian Red Cross-Committee of Catania, to offer prevention and treatment services for economically fragile people and the most vulnerable.

Corri Catania will start Sunday 12 May at 10:00from University square. The route will be 5 km long and will wind along via Etnea, via Argentina, via Sant’Euplio, viale Regina Margherita, Villa Bellini (Piazzale delle Carrozze and viale degli Diritti Illustri), via Santa Maddalena, via Gesualdo Clementi, piazza Dante, via Quartarone, via Teatro Greco, piazza San Francesco, via Gagliani, via Garibaldi, via Castello Ursino, piazza Federico di Svevia, via San Sebastiano, via Transito, via Auteri, piazza Mazzini, via Garibaldi for arrive in Piazza Duomo and then return to Piazza Università where the final party will take place.
