An increasingly accessible culture for the younger generations, as a vehicle for growth and creative stimuli. The Cassa di Risparmio di Foligno Foundation supports the educational projects of the CIAC centers in Foligno throughout 2024, financing activities aimed at local schools. The teaching activities, differentiated by type and target, are designed and created by Maggioli Cultura e Turismo, manager of the CIAC museum circuit and will concern both the exhibition events planned at the CIAC and the discovery of the work “Cosmic Magnet” at the Ex Chiesa site of the Annunziata.
There president of the Cassa di Risparmio di Foligno Foundation, Dr. Monica Sassi, expresses satisfaction with these paths: «The desire is to make culture capable of exciting through a current language suitable for a curious, attentive and interactive public. We want the laboratory to be a place of education for children, a unique opportunity to learn in an engaging and stimulating way, while promoting the development of critical skills and creativity, as well as nurturing a lasting interest in culture and knowledge. The Cassa di Risparmio di Foligno Foundation, which has always been committed to the dissemination of knowledge and culture, has precisely these objectives among its objectives and for the future we intend to consolidate these experiences with a greater number of schools in the area”.
Teaching at CIAC: the exhibition “Construction of the Universe”
The educational proposal currently underway is entitled “CIAC Magazine” and is designed for the exhibition “Construction of the Universe Artist’s Magazine and publications after Marcel Duchamp”, on display until 5 May at the CIAC in Foligno. The initiative has already received a great deal of attention: in fact, over 300 students from primary and secondary schools in the area have already booked and participated in the activities.
The educational activity, which includes a guided tour of the exhibition combined with a creative workshop, explores the varied world of fabulous artist covers and magazines as artistic expression. The proposed workshop creates a bridge between contemporary art and everyday life: the kids are encouraged to imagine their universe, creating personal artist covers for the CIAC Magazine, an imaginary magazine that will collect all the covers produced. The covers will be created through the technique of collage, drawing and above all imagination.
«The laboratory designed for the “Construction of the Universe” exhibition provides children with an enriching educational experience – he underlines Francesca Brozzi of Maggioli Culture and Tourism –, because it promotes a playful and participatory approach to contemporary art. For the little ones, the exhibition is an open container on the world of creativity and imagination. At the end of the workshop there will be a moment of sharing where the children present their creations, promoting the exchange of ideas and mutual appreciation.”
The Foundation will also support the educational and laboratory events planned for the soon-to-open exhibition dedicated to Vettor Pisani and the one dedicated to Claudio Verna scheduled for October, in addition to the activities planned at the former Church of the Santissima Trinità in Annunziata which hosts Gino’s Cosmic Calamity De Dominicis. In this case, two initiatives: the narrative educational laboratory dedicated to schools entitled “AI Immortal Art” and “Cosmic Magnet Escape Room”.
