THE NEW ELECTORAL LAW THAT DE LUCA WANTS FOR CAMPANIA: SAME SYSTEM AS THE EUROPEAN – Political Agenda

A pure, or rather very pure, proportional. In which everyone carries out an electoral campaign for themselves, without the need to announce alliances and post-election agreements in advance. And then the election of the President carried out directly by the Regional Council, at the first session after the vote. A step back in time? Certainly, what the current majority in the Regional Council is imagining is a return to the 1980s, when the electoral system – both for the Municipalities and for the Regions – did not provide for coalitions, majority bonuses and, above all, direct election of the President of the Council. An electoral system similar to that for the European elections where each party runs for the election of the greatest number of parliamentarians, with a majority that is formed in the chamber for the composition of the Council and for the election of the President. For the moment, as already happened a few months ago, it is a simple chatter, but after the European elections some majority regional councilor could start to put down on paper the idea of an 80s law, to allow the President of the Region De Luca to circumvent the regulatory obstacle of the third mandate.
