Another quality event in the rich seasonal program of the Mercadante Theater in Cerignola promoted by the artistic direction of Savino Zaba and the municipal administration in collaboration with the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese. After the success of The Tuesday lady Here you are The Swag with Gianfeliceriamoto, Marina Massironi and Valerio Santoro, famous comedy scheduled for Sunday 21 April at 9pm.
Written by the great Joe Orton in the 1960s and which immediately became a resounding success in England, it is the story of two inexperienced thieves who decide to rob the bank next to the funeral home where they work, but are forced to hide the stolen goods… in the coffin of the recently deceased mother of one of them. Thus begins a daring series of absurd and hilarious situations, including thefts, murders, love intrigues and investigations, all typical of British black humor.
The Swag it is in fact one of the most famous and entertaining examples of black comedy, of which the English are masters, in which irony and cynicism become the most effective weapons for attacking the cornerstones of bourgeois society: law enforcement, marriage and the cult of death. Translation of the work by Edoardo Erba, with the absolute protagonists being Gianfelice Learnato, Marina Massironi and Valerio Santoro, with Giuseppe Brunetti and Davide Cirri. Francesco Saponaro is the director of the famous comedy, set design by Luigi Ferrigno, Anna Verde’s costumes typical of the mid-century English bourgeoisie, lighting design by Antonio Molinaro.
An engaging plot between lightness, black humor and contradictions, another important work proposed in the season of the Teatro Mercadante in Cerignola which will subsequently close with the last show dedicated to accessibility, Years (10 May), and Entertainment with Rocco Papaleo (12 May).
