Goodbye to Andrea Quaglia, food safety desk clerk at the Confartigianato of Cuneo, married, father of three children. He was 43 years old, he died of cancer last night (Wednesday 3 April), at the Busca Hospice. Two and a half years ago the discovery of the disease and the start of treatment, faced with great courage and determination, even overcoming two surgeries, his health conditions have worsened in recent weeks.

Originally from Verzuolo, graduated from the University of Turin, Andrea Quaglia had lived in Cuneo, where he had been employed for a long time with positions of responsibility at the Cuneo Diagnostic Center (Cdc) in Piazza Galimberti, then at Einaudi Funghi e Tartufi. Four years ago he had joined the staff of the provincial Confartigianato. «We fondly remember Andrea – the message of condolence from the association’s leaders -, for the qualities of professionalism and courtesy with which he always supported companies as contact person for the Food Safety desk. An important point of reference, esteemed and well-liked by all.”

A sportsman and a great swimming enthusiast, Andrea Quaglia had long since moved with his family to Villar San Costanzo, where he cultivated a love of gardening, taking care of the vegetable garden, of the house, and enjoyed the company of his dog Benjamin. He had also been involved in volunteering at the Green Cross of Saluzzo. «A pleasant person, with a strong character – say friends and colleagues -. In his company she had her opinion of him and always asserted it firmly. A man with great human qualities, a loving husband and father, he lost the battle against the disease, but he was an example for many.”

He leaves behind his wife Giorgia Tonoli (secretary in an occupational health practice in Cuneo), his children Caterina, Filippo and Sebastiano (12, 9 and 4 years old), his parents Anna Maria and Mario, his sister Monica and his grandchildren. The funeral will be celebrated tomorrow (Friday 5 April) at 3pm, in the parish church of Villar San Costanzo. At the funeral, any donations will be donated to research for cystic fibrosis.
