FIAB Abruzzo and Molise requests delegation to cycling mobility
Descriptive text here

In a note signed by Giancarlo Odoardi, the Abruzzo Molise Coordination of the Fiab asks the President of the Abruzzo Region Marco Marsilio to evaluate the attribution of the delegation to cycling mobility

In particular, the note reads: “We have written to the President of the Abruzzo Region to immediately ask for a meeting to evaluate the clear and distinct attribution of a delegation to the topic of cycling mobility, both urban and cycle tourism, and consequently the activation of a office and dedicated resources, as well as the drafting of the regional cycling mobility plan”. This is the text of the letter:

“The references to the recent National Law 2/18 as well as to the Regional Law 8/13, to cite the most evident regulatory cornerstones, constitute starting points for a broad comparison, in which to include both the theme of urban, excursion and tourist mobility and on on which to base the development of cycling mobility and mobility management policies. But to do this we are convinced it is necessary:

– identify a councilor delegation for specific “mobility”;

– establish a regional service for cycling mobility;

– provide for the drafting of the regional cycling mobility plan;

– create coordination for the development of cycle tourism;

– promote and support a network of cycle municipalities (on this topic FIAB has prepared a dedicated benchmarking tool, called “Cycle Municipalities”);

– think about the modal as well as tariff and logistical integration of the transport of people and goods;

– therefore also provide economic support to companies that commit in this direction;

– give stability to financing for the sector, identifying a specific item that is structural in the regional budget.” Concludes Giancarlo Odoardi – FIAB ABRUZZO MOLISE Coordination
