ROME – The Civitavecchia express, the regional fast train of Trenitalia, the lead company of the Passenger Hub of the FS Italiane Group, which connects the port of Civitavecchia to the center of Rome, will restart on April 1st. Active until November 1, 2024, it will make over seven hundred additional seats available to tourists on the FL5 Rome-Civitavecchia line.

The first connection is scheduled in the morning with departure from Civitavecchia at 09.07* and arrival in Rome Ostiense at 10.10; the second in the afternoon with departure at 4.30pm from Rome Ostiense and arrival in the port city at 5.20pm. Both will make a single intermediate stop at the Roma San Pietro station.

The single journey ticket costs 10 euros while the return ticket costs 15 euros. Children from 0 to 4 years old travel for free while children up to 12 years old (not yet turned) do not pay if accompanied by an adult. There are no additional charges for large bags.

Another peculiarity of the service is the guaranteed seating: once the 718 seats available for each connection are reached, ticket sales will close.

The ticket for the Civitavecchia express can be purchased at all Trenitalia purchase channels, ticket offices, self-service, Trenitalia.com website, Trenitalia App.

*From 1st to 23rd April, to allow for works along the railway line, departure from Civitavecchia is brought forward by 10 minutes.
