The first scary trailer has ignited the enthusiasm of fans who long for a return to the oppressive atmospheres of the parent film, and a new video spread in the last few hours seems to spark more than one hope.

On the occasion of Alien Day, the film’s director Fede Álvarez shared a short excerpt from the filming that took place in Budapest, giving a glimpse of the impressive practical special effects exploited in Romulus. In the video in question we see the Uruguayan filmmaker commanding a radio-controlled Facehugger from disturbing realism. Álvarez accompanied the video with a caption that reads:

Practical special effects were a constant during the film’s production, with Fede Álvarez involving the crew who made the models and costumes from the original films Alien And Aliens – Final Clash. A few months ago the director had in fact declared:

«We have puppets, animatronics, all the old school techniques. We got the right guys because they worked on the originals. We needed those guys to determine the look and do them exactly as you have seen them in the past. But when we needed something new we brought them in, so we made sure we were faithful to the spirit of the original films

As anticipated in recent months, Romulus will be set between the events of the original film Alien and its legendary sequel Aliens – Final Clash, whose events are separated by 57 years. There official synopsis of the new chapter reads:
