Painless defeat in Pesaro, first play-off clash against Arezzo

Juventus Next Gen closes its excellent championship with a defeat in Pesaro, against a team hungry for points to gain a better position in the play-outs. A first half well played by Brambilla’s boys who created chances and did better than their opponents, but were punished by a corner development.

Sekulov equalized by taking advantage of a nice cross from Savona but a lightness from Pedro Felipe gave away a free kick which Di Paola converted perfectly. Little or nothing happens in the second half: the Bianconeri don’t push and Vis Pesaro manages the lead without worries. Juventus finishes in seventh place, overtaken at the last minute by Pescara, and will have to deal with Arezzo in the first round of the play-offs. The match should be played on Saturday 4 May but the start of the play-offs could be postponed by a few days pending the decision of the Guarantee Board at CONI which will have to rule on the appeal of Taranto, penalized by 4 points in the standings. Juventus will only need to not lose to access the next round, given their better position in the standings compared to the Arezzo team.
