PALERMO– The Termini Imerese prosecutor’s office has entered the suspects in the register Gaetano Rotolo, director of works of Amap, e Giovanni Anselmo sole director of Tek Infrastrutture srl of San Cipirello, for the Casteldaccia massacre.
They too, as well as Nicolò Di Salvo of the Quadrifoglio Group of Partinico, are under investigation for multiple manslaughter.
The policemen from the Palermo flying squad served the warning notices who are conducting investigations into the tragedy in the lifting plant of the town in the province of Palermo. Five workers died and one was seriously injured.
Tek is the company that got it a million euro contract from Amap, subcontracting a 100,000 euro order to Quadrifoglio.
Rotolo, however, according to the reconstruction confirmed by some survivors, he would have been the one who opened the lifting system so that the workers could try to unblock the obstruction to the sewer system. The premises were off limits to the workers who came down without any protection and were overwhelmed by a wave of gas and sewage.
