The valley, celebrations that they take place on the Tuesday after Easter from date immemorial, they are thought to date back to the period of emigrations to celebrate Skanderbeg’s victory over the Turks and the conquest of Kruja by his troops. Later the valleys represented a celebratory moment of ethnicityto remind the entire diaspora community of their identity.
An ethnic-cultural heritage, made up of traditions, values and one’s own vision of life which in this loud celebration confirms and transmits with song to the younger generations. In Civita they take to the streets feminine laughter, a time not so long ago even those made up of men only “Plezit”the first
made up of married and unmarried women, two men are at the head of the dance and guide the movements of the dance, which moves on the notes of legendary rhapsodies.
The movements are often enveloping in a spiral and would be nothing more than a representation-celebration of the military tactics used by Skanderbeg, the rule in fact dictates that the Vallja with its gait imprisons within it the people represented in the present by foreigners and taken prisoner, which to be freed they must pay the symbolic ransomthey must offer food and drink and then be thanked with song.

During the event, honorary citizenship will be awarded to the well-known television host Giorgio Mastrota. Closing the 2024 edition will be the group from Casalvecchio di Puglia.
