03/28/2024 – From 1st to 7th April the Municipality of Montecalvo in Foglia is the new protagonist of ’50×50: Capitals squared’, the symbolic project of Pesaro 2024 which sees the fifty Municipalities of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, in turn , Capital for a week long 2024; special partner ’50×50 Capital squared’ Banca di Pesaro – Credito Cooperativo.
The rich program is entitled ‘The Montecalvo you don’t expect’ and offers 7 days full of opportunities for art, walking and cycling through villages and suggestive corners, editorial presentations, music and initiatives to discover the ancient artisan traditions of the area. There will also be two unmissable events What is PDO.
For Daniele Viminideputy mayor and councilor for beauty of the municipality of Pesaro, we are talking about a very rich and very well thought-out week in Montecalvo in Foglia which expresses its nature as a municipality and a territory at the crossroads of art and artists, bringing together different aspects, from engraving to sculpture to literary history up to the innate vocation for narrating the landscape , both the natural one and the architecture and villages to be rediscovered. An impressive program in terms of the number of figures involved and which we can’t wait to savor with the taste of plein air and to discover less traveled situations and places.
Special thanks to the mayor Matteo Ricci and the deputy mayor, councilor for beauty, Daniele Vimini, for ensuring that each municipality can be the Italian capital of culture for a week by involving us in this magnificent ’50X50 Capitals squared’ project.: Like this Donatella Paganelli mayor of Montecalvo in Foglia. An unrepeatable opportunity especially for small municipalities like us, which will give visibility to the entire provincial territory, especially the internal areas. We enthusiastically welcomed this splendid opportunity which allows us to discover the ‘Montecalvo you don’t expect’, a land full of culture and traditions. This week we wanted to showcase the beauties and peculiarities of our territory, highlighting our excellences. All the commercial and hospitality businesses were involved in drafting the program, also transforming them into a stage for the events. The typical dish of the Montecalvo culture week is passatello, a poor dish made with bread, eggs and cheese which in the peasant tradition was the holiday dish. We will find it on the menu of every restaurant in various versions.

< 5pm Cà Gallo Inauguration of Giulio Serafini’s exhibition, copperplate engraver, painter – On display are the copperplates printed from 1982 to today, as well as original graphics and books by internationally renowned artists of Marche origin: Arnaldo Pomodoro, Giò Pomodoro, Walter Valentini, Oscar Piattella, Eliseo Mattiacci, Giuliano Vangi.
