Trenitalia Launches New Regional Connections in Sicily: Discover Cefalù and Taormina

Trenitalia, in collaboration with the Sicilian Region, introduces new regional trains and additional connections ideal for tourists and regular travellers. Explore places of high cultural and scenic value on spring weekends.

Connections from Palermo to Cefalù and Milazzo In the comfort of the new Sicilian regional trains, the 25 Pop and 17 Blues, the popular Cefalù Line service connects Palermo to the renowned village of Cefalù.

During the week, there are 4 connections between Palermo Centrale and Cefalù, with 9 further services on Saturdays and 18 on Sundays. For travelers coming from Palermo’s Falcone e Borsellino international airport, the direct connection to Cefalù operates with 5 trips on Saturdays and 12 on Sundays, while connections to Milazzo, gateway to the Aeolian Islands, are available on public holidays.

Taormina Line and Increased Services The Taormina Line sees 6 additional connections on holidays between Catania Fontanarossa Airport and Letojanni, thus increasing access to the Ionian coast.

The number of trips between Palermo Centrale and Palermo Airport is also growing with new trips on weekends and holidays, ensuring a more frequent connection.

Combined Services and Link Bus The Taormina Link offers a reliable bus service between Taormina-Giardini station and the center of Taormina.

Furthermore, the Fontanarossa Airlink train+bus service, in collaboration with AMTS Catania, guarantees rapid transfers from Catania airport. Agrigento benefits from the train+bus service to the Valley of the Temples, facilitating access to this historic site.
