Harvey Weinstein is hospitalized in New York after undergoing a series of medical tests. This was confirmed to the Associated Press by his lawyer Arthur Aidala, according to whom the former film producer would have been hospitalized at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, after his arrival in prison in the city yesterday 26 April, transferred from the Rome penitentiary, to the north from New York. The day before, the New York Court of Appeals had overturned Weinstein’s conviction, after the judge had recognized a series of errors made in the trial that had sentenced him to 23 years in prison. Penalty canceled by the judge, who ordered a new trial. According to lawyer Aidala, Weinstein was transferred to hospital after the first tests in prison in New York: «It seems that he physically needs a lot of help. He has a lot of problems and is undergoing all kinds of tests. His health is a bit of a disaster.” According to a spokesperson for the New York Department of Corrections cited by AP, Weinstein is still in hospital custody.
