The archaeological area of the Valley of the Temples, in Agrigento, was literally stormed on April 25th and the flow, according to the authorities, will continue at least until May 1st.

“All this has naturally determined a pressing control and monitoring activity – we read in a note – of the Provincial Police Command in the archaeological areas and in the adjacent arteries. The introduction of the one-way system leading down towards the Valley and the seaside area leads to greater traffic safety and an impressive influx of traffic with strong interruptions in the archaeological areas which must be managed and coordinated. All this put the work of the Provincial Police Command directed by Pietro Amorosia and Commander Salvatore Lombardo to the test until late in the evening with women, men and vehicles used during the activities”.

“Several cars parked on the sides of the provincial roads have been sanctioned – continues the press release – due to the overcrowding of the private car parks that were full to capacity and the long queues of tourists and visitors before accessing the Valley at the two entrances of Giunone and Porta V”.
