PomeziaThe Prefect involves 4 barracks in his Floor against thetheft alarm. Two Carabinieri barracks (those in Pomezia-centro and Torvaianica), the State Police Commissariat based in Ostia (responsible for the Pomezia area) and finally the Local Police Command of Pomezia received a note from the Prefect of Rome, the Dr. Lamberto Giannini.
The prefectural note is dated March 18th. It constitutes a response to the letter sent in recent days to the Roman Prefecture by the Pometino councilor (opposition) Giacomo Castro (Civic Value List).

In the note, the Pomezia councilor complained about a generalized theft alarm, widespread between Pomezia and Ardea, but particularly intense in the Campo Ascolano district, in the Pomezia area.
In his letter, the Prefect of Rome, in response to councilor Castro, essentially asks the police forces involved for a greater presence in the area and greater ‘attention’ to the territory.
From what we have learned in short ways, both the Carabinieri of Pomezia and the State Police Commissariat of Ostia have already increased their presence of men and women and vehicles to better monitor the territory, both day and night.
Castro’s words on his social channels
“As many will remember – writes the councilor of Pomezia, Giacomo Castro – faced with the recent SURGE IN THEFTS in homes, the community has expressed (…) the need for greater control of the territory by the police.
On that occasion I also felt it was my duty to take action and do my part alongside the citizens, forwarding to the Prefect of Rome, Dr. Lamberto Giannini, a request aimed at obtaining an INCREASE in the STAFF and instrumental equipment of the Police Forces in territory.
I communicated to the citizens the contacts that had taken place between the Prefecture of Rome and the operational units of the local law enforcement agencies, with the request made to them to increase checks in the neighborhood.
The Commander Romano of the Torvajanica Carabinieri Station confirmed the request received from the Prefecture and assumed the commitment of the police to increase patrols. Emphasizing, however, the importance of citizens’ collaboration in reporting suspicious situations to the 112 number and in making regular reports in the event of actual or even attempted thefts.
A new police station in Pomezia?
The problem, however, is broader in scope. Pomezia and Ardea are now two urban areas that require the stable presence of a POLICE COMMISSIONER or the considerable strengthening of the personnel and resources of the Carabinieri serving in our territorial area.
MY OBJECTIVE is to achieve this goal, which I will try to defend in the next meeting to be held in the Prefecture!
