The center-right enters the heart of the electoral program. After the first releases on some topics such as safety, today it was the turn of “birth rate and families”, a theme particularly felt by the coalition.
The mayoral candidate illustrated the salient points of the program that fall within this chapter during a press conference at SpazioComune Alessandro Portesani and the center-right representatives who dealt with these issues, Paolo Italy (FdI), Jane Alquati (League), Saverio Simi (FI) e Giuseppe Trespidi (UDC).
“We are defining a very busy electoral program for Cremona – began Portesani –. Today we present the lines relating to birth rates and families.” In Cremona, he added, there is a “demographic crisis”, which therefore makes the topic even more urgent. Out of 100 citizens, explained Portesani, 34 are over 60 years old.
The data “are conditioned by various factors, from the decline in births to the flight of young people who move out of our territory and have children elsewhere”. The birth trend, on the other hand, is partially balanced by children born in Cremona but of foreign origin. “We have to find – said the mayoral candidate – measures that can reverse this trend because an administration must be attentive to the birth rate and young couples”.
For this reason, some measures have been defined, “some with an immediate impact, others to rethink the city, still others of an economic nature” precisely to deal with this situation.
Among the measures envisaged in the electoral program, the one aimed at “certify Cremona as a family friendly municipality”then economic interventions that affect municipal tariffs, starting with Tarip, “enhancing the composition of the family unit more”.
It also aims to “review the birth gifts that are poor today”. In this regard, we thought of an App with some economic benefits, coupons dedicated to children in synergy with traders.
Another point on which we intend to intervene is the creation of Ombudsman for childrena free figure from the medical field who has particular attention to issues concerning children aged 0 to 6 years.
“We’ll have to review – Portesani then clarified – the regulation of access to educational services, nursery schools, summer centers and support the Cremonese private schools, which must have equal dignity and equal support”.
Finally, the aim is to redevelop city spaces owned by the Municipality for the benefit of children and their families. Spaces therefore intended for “sociability of parents and children to guarantee opportunities for socialization”.
