MESSINA – The first leg of the match was good for the Giallorossi as they try to maintain the category in the survival play-off. Opposite the Pescara Real Dem team who came to the PalaLaganà in Montepiselli suffered a 3-1 defeat. Coach Battiato’s team could also have rounded off the score more after closing the first half of the game at 2-0, with goals from Lautaro Mendez and Piccolo, and having achieved the hat trick at the start of the second half with a personal brace from the Argentine Lautaro Mendez. In the final, the guest’s reaction led to Riccardo Zaffiri’s goal. Next week there will be a repeat in Abruzzo, let’s hope these advantages will be enough for president Caratozzolo’s team.
Messina Futsal – Real Dem 3-1
Balanced start between the two teams, in the 5th minute the locals take the lead, Piccolo serves Lautaro Mendez in the area who turns and scores. Shortly afterwards the local team came close to doubling the score with Piccolo hitting the post and the ball danced on the line but was swept away by the defence. Conclusion saved by Lautaro Mendez but in the 9th minute it was 2-0, a triangle between Piccolo and Marcio Garcia with the former finishing on target. Opportunity for the guests with Caporale who fades.
The second half begins with Lautaro Mendez who still defends the ball well in the area and with his back to goal he turns and scores at seven for the 3-0. Guest reaction with Zaffiri’s goal disallowed for a touch of the arm, Caporale again who puts it wide from the edge of the area. Post by Marcio Garcia followed with Messina Futsal coming close to scoring a poker, in the final confusing action which resulted in the only goal for the Real Dem, Zaffiri volleyed his header from a clearance and surprised the goalkeeper. In the final there will be no other actions to report other than a long range shot by Piccolo which the Abruzzo goalkeeper saves.
