“We could have won more than lost, beyond the final episode which remains with us the most. But it’s a draw. We looked for victory against a good team who came to us very motivated and who had an excellent first half, pressuring us and not allowing us our usual plots. However, during the match we improved a lot, playing in their half of the pitch for the entire last half hour. We played the game we wanted, the goal didn’t arrive but we tried and this is the most important thing for me. The team put in courage and all the energy they had. In the second half we saw a courageous team
“Seeing the team trying with all the resources and with the attitude necessary to win gave me great pleasure. Of course we knew that by winning we would have made a big leap, but we have to take on the race ourselves. And I underlined this to the kids. “It’s something that didn’t surprise us. We knew we could take that risk. We weren’t good in the first half and we gave in to their play. We suffered that change of game that we had seen. We weren’t good at bringing pressure to all areas of the pitch, not just there. In the second half, however, we did better.”
