“The city of women”: presentation of the project on Monday

On Monday 13 May, at the Auditorium of the Santa Monica Monastery of the University of the Sacred Heart, the project “The city of women” will be presented promoted by the States General of Women for gender equality and equal opportunities: one series of initiatives aimed at spreading a culture of valorisation, integration and protection of the female gender in every sphere. The initiative was approved by Province of Cremona (first in Italy to do so) with resolution no. 168 of 6 December 2023, requested by the president of the administration Paolo Mirko Signoroni in agreement with the Equality Councilor Cristina Pugnoli.

On the occasion the city of Cremona will be awarded the recognition of “Province of Women” awarded by the States General of Women: President Signoroni will be given one special copy of the Dubai Cardthe Charter of Women of the World updated for Expo 2021.

In detail, the resolution approved by the Province of Cremona provides support through “awareness actions aimed at the Municipalities of the provincial territory, the “Le Cities of Women” project, aimed at spreading a culture of inclusive human resources policies, free from discrimination and prejudices, capable of valorising talents in all their diversity and carrying out positive actions to give substance to the intentions expressed in the relevant Guidelines of the project itself”.

This project aims to create a national network that brings together large and small cities and towns in adhering to the manifesto “The City of Women – General States of Women – Guidelines” and in the consequent implementation of actions and interventions at a territorial level. In his 22 programmatic pointsthe manifesto aims to “search for solutions to resolve the imbalance caused by female unemployment, promote the integration of women, increase and support the presence of women in all spheres of society”, all in the areas of work, merit, of combating violence and health.

The event on May 13th will feature speeches by Maria Concetta Cassata (President of the CUG Single Guarantee Committee for equal opportunities of the Ministry of Culture), Cristina Pugnoli (Equality Councilor of the Province of Cremona), Isa Maggi (National President of the States General of Women), Nadia Bragalini (Italian Ambassador Made in Woman Made in Italy of the States General of Women and delegate of Federitaly – Business Federation for the protection and promotion of Made in Italy), Emanuele Bettini (President of the District National Federation of Diplomats and Foreign Consuls in Italy for the Lombardy provinces and the Milan Metropolitan Area), Carmine Scotti (Cremona Europea Lions Club and Ambassador of “Le città delle donne”).
