Carpi, the electoral offices of the mayoral candidates Arletti and Righi – SulPanaro vandalized

CARPI – The electoral offices of the mayoral candidates Arletti (centre-right) and Righi (centre-left) were vandalized in Carpi.

Arletti press release:

“We want to express our firm condemnation for the acts of vandalism that hit the center-right electoral headquarters in Carpi this night. These are gestures that express feelings of violence, hatred and cowardice that have nothing to do with democracy.”

Talking is Annalisa Arletti, candidate for mayor of Carpi for the centre-right.

“The city does not deserve this. We believe that, regardless of the opinions expressed, the discussion must always be healthy, free and civil. We will file a complaint and hope that such incidents will never happen again. However, I want to reiterate that, if someone thought to intimidate or scare us, he largely failed: such acts can only strengthen our convictions and the will to do good for this known city – concludes Arletti – that other political forces have also suffered the same threats. Being adversaries and having different ideas does not prevent me from expressing maximum solidarity on my part and that of the entire center-right coalition towards them. Now we hope that the perpetrators of these actions will be found and adequately punished.”

Pd press release:

“It goes without saying that going to deface the offices of the electoral committees of the mayoral candidates is an uncivilized and profoundly anti-democratic gesture. The point is that we are really tired, as we are sure all citizens are, of these vandalistic, cowardly and anonymous actions, which they target schools, hospitals and public spaces from time to time. This time it was the headquarters of the committees of Riccardo Righi and Annalisa Arletti, to whom we express our complete solidarity, but they are only the last in a long list is full: we hope that these cowards and violent people, because there is violence even in gestures, are identified and punished as they deserve. Those who do not have the strength of their ideas, move on to the idea of strength. This obviously does not stop the campaign elections and the activities of the candidates: it’s just a shame that, out of stupidity, they haven’t yet discovered a vaccine” these are the words of secretary of the Democratic Party of Carpi, Daniela Depietri.
