On March 26th, the periodic port security/fire prevention exercise took place inside the port of Barletta and under the coordination of the local Port Authority – Coast Guard. The aim of the exercise was initially to verify the readiness and effectiveness of the port security measures which have the aim of preventing illicit acts against port facilities and subsequently also to verify the readiness of the operators in managing an event to combat a fire following explosion and healthcare.

In addition to the Port Authority, the exercise also involved the Port System Authority of the Southern Adriatic Sea, the Fire Brigade, the Municipal Police, the 118, port Fire Guard service, moorers, pilots and port tugboat.

This training moment is a fundamental opportunity to evaluate, perfect and consolidate the timeliness and preparation of the entire organizational machine set in motion in order to manage any emergencies and the coordination of the bodies/organizations that are called to intervene in various capacities .
