Viterbo – There is still a scam alarm throughout Tuscia, the Carabinieri recommend: “Never comply with requests and call friends or relatives immediately”.
“The hateful phenomenon of scams against the elderly shows no signs of stopping. Yesterday, numerous phone calls were received at the Carabinieri operations center in Riello from elderly people who had been contacted by self-styled members of the force who reported that relatives of the person contacted were in urgent need of having caused a road accident or to resolve a sudden judicial suspense in which they had become victims – they explain from the provincial command.
Fortunately, the people who called, from Viterbo but also from Vetralla, Grotte Santo Stefano, Soriano nel Cimino, became suspicious and immediately called the police station and alerted their families, thus managing to nip the attempted fraud against them in the bud, however, it is not yet known whether in some cases the scams have unfortunately succeeded. Similarly, in recent days similar reports had arrived from various centers in Tuscia, an unmistakable sign that the area is daily attacked by gangs of unscrupulous criminals dedicated to this expedient to steal money or jewels from fragile, easily impressionable people and therefore equally easy to overwhelm. .
As always, the weapon reminds citizens to never indulge those who, qualifying themselves as belonging to the police force, ask for the immediate payment of large sums of cash to urgently put an end to judicial or civil matters of any kind, because it is absolutely not this is the way in which judicial disputes are resolved today, especially through the Carabinieri or any other police force.
The recommendation is always the same: never comply with such requests immediately, immediately contact relatives or friends so as not to be found alone at home by the caller’s accomplices who are waiting to take action and obviously immediately call the police station or 112 to report the incident. ‘happened – concludes the military note -.
