Ethics, genius and science. And of course engineering. These are the four key words that the engineers of the sixth province of Puglia have chosen to frame and post on the entrance wall of their new “home”, inaugurated on Monday 25 March 2024 in Trani. Terms that express the founding values of a profession that regulates and designs the services of contemporary society.
The new headquarters is located in Corso Regina Elena 14, in an ancient building in the historic center of the city. A place that aims to become not only a meeting point but also an opportunity for discussion with the realities of the Apulian community.
“It will not just be an administrative headquarters – he said Antonella Cascella, president of the Order of Engineers of the BAT Province – but also and above all a cultural, training, growth and meeting place for the entire category which has over a thousand members. In this way we want to continue the growth path that began some time ago where technique, innovation and training remain the three key words that distinguish our profession”.
Unlike the previous one, the new headquarters is characterized by a much larger training room which will allow training activities to be carried out on site. Present at the inauguration were representatives of the institutions, professionals of other orders and members of the Order who, after the ribbon cutting, listened to the Lectio magistralis of Professor Tullia Iori, professor of structural engineering at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome .
“With the professor’s lecture we listened to the history of engineering” continued Cascella. “For us who are changing location and trying to put down roots in another place, her lesson was timely and timely.” The Order of Engineers of the BAT Province is putting down stronger roots and investing in the future.
“We don’t like to consider it a new beginning but the continuation of a long work that began 18 years ago” concludes the president. “Our goal is to be present in the area, also in order to be a glue with local, provincial and regional institutions”.
