Municipality of Pesaro: Rough Harmonies

Municipality of Pesaro: Rough Harmonies
Descriptive text here

A long and transversal artistic journey, an eclectic, profound and curious artist: these are the traits of the personal exhibition that Spazio Bianco di Pesaro and the Conventino di Monteciccardo dedicate to the artist from the Marche Gabriel De Gaudi in the year of Pesaro 2024 Italian capital of culture.
By Roberta Ridolfi, the anthological exhibition is divided into two locations with a double opening day: on Saturday 13th at 6pm it opens as a white space in the heart of Pesaro, on Sunday 14th at 4pm at the Conventino di Monteciccardo Center for Contemporary Art. The exhibition it will be open to visitors until 12 May 2024.

Already in the title “Rough Harmonies” there is a dichotomy that governs the poetics of this artist which passes from the rough strength of the sculptor who bends the material, to the ordered geometry of his pictorial chromatism, passing through the visual oneirism of the videos up to the sensitivity of the emotional introspection of poetry . Gabriel De Gaudi is an artist who expresses solid concepts sometimes softened by certain emotions, which more or less unconsciously govern life.
While showing, even physically, the solidity of the sculptor’s identity, De Gaudi is first of all an artist who interprets emotional impulses, fragments of lived life, paradoxes that pierce the world in its apparent ordinariness.
The exhibition itinerary presents a nucleus of medium-sized photographs and some small sculptures reminiscent of fantastic animals in the white space of via Zongo, while in the Conventino di Monteciccardo pictorial works, large sculptures and some videos are exhibited.

As the curator, Roberta Ridolfi, recalls in the catalogue: “In the works there are often traces of a humanity that is consumed in the lives of others that Gabriel uses as poetic material, to be reworked, decomposed, altered, without prejudice to the fact that the only certain and predominant identity in the works is always his. We could define this artist’s research as a stratification of experiences, of traces of real life, acted on an emotional level to the point of sublimating their objective sense, all aimed at celebrating the work of art. Wandering around Gabriel De Gaudi’s atelier is an all-encompassing experience.”

‘Ruvide Armonie’ is created in collaboration with the Municipality of Monteciccardo and the ProLoco of the same name. Thanks for your cooperation Studio 83, Neon 2000 Pesaro, Conventino Monteciccardo Wines and EVO Oils.
