The Mediaset flagship has decided to give its audience a “Turkish” summer (and the ratings continue to prove it right). Tonight on Canale 5 in fact, in prime time, it’s the turn of Family secretsa new say made in Istanbul, which, during the week, will join The Rose of Vengeance, broadcast every Friday evening, and the second season of My Home My Destinystarting tomorrow in daytime.
AND Yargi (this is the title in the original language) promises to keep viewers captivated with its intricate plots which have also allowed it to win numerous awards, including an International Emmy Award in 2023.
How many episodes does it consist of
Family Secrets, in the Turkish version, is composed of three seasons, 95 episodes, each lasting 140 minutes. Once arrived in Italy, each episode was divided into three blocks of approximately 45 minutes each, for a total of 285 episodes.
The Turkish series will therefore be available on Canale 5 well 95 prime time slots (three episodes will be broadcast every Sunday evening). However, what is not yet known is whether Mediaset will decide to broadcast Family Secrets also in autumn and winter or whether, which is very likely, it will interrupt the series in September, publishing only the first season in 2024 (34 episodes in Turkey, 102 mini-episodes in the Italian version).
The dizi will naturally also be available in streaming, free of charge, on Mediaset Infinity, at the same time as the television broadcast or on demand.
Family secrets: plot of the first episode
The corpse of a girl is found in a dumpster in Resitpasa. The upright prosecutor is investigating the case Ilgaz and the head of the homicide section, Metin, his father. However, the two do not yet know that a shocking discovery is about to overwhelm their professional and personal lives: Metin’s credit card is found next to the suitcase that contained the body. How is it possible? A few days earlier Cinar, youngest son of Metin and brother of Ilgaz, had stolen his father’s card. To make his father’s suspicions fall on him, there is also a bag, kept hidden in his room, with some pills inside.
When prosecutor Pars summons father and son, there is nothing Metin can do to ensure Cinar is not detained by the police.
With Metin distraught and torn by ethical questions, Ilgaz must take matters into his own hands. He thus addresses himself to Ceylin, a lawyer whose unorthodox methods he doesn’t approve of but who at the moment might be the only one capable of helping his family. Things get further complicated, however, when a blood-stained cardigan is found in Metin’s car.
Meanwhile, a bag is found in another neighborhood and the police have no doubt that it is the victim’s personal belongings. When Ilgaz summons Ceylin to the morgue to discover the identity of the murdered girl, he cannot imagine what is about to happen: the victim is Inci, Ceylin’s younger sister. The lawyer harshly confronts Cinar, who she considers the murderer, but the boy is adamant: he did not kill Inci and has never even met her.

Family Secrets also features, like other films already released in Italy, several faces already known to the public. Kaan Urgancıoğluhere as PM Ilgaz, became famous thanks to the character of Emir in Endless Love. Pınar Denizfamous in Türkiye for the drama series Kırmızı Oda, is the lawyer Ceylin.
Among the interpreters of the dizi starting tonight we also find Başak Gümülcinelioğlu, already seen in Daydreamer – The wings of the dream in the role of the psychologist Deniz Keskin.
