We have often spoken to you in the past about the phenomenon of the sale of so-called zombie cars, cars that have been out of production for years but continue to be registered even after many years. Usually this phenomenon is linked in particular to the United States where Stellantis itself is often the protagonist with cars such as Dodge Viper or Fiat 124 Spider. However, the same thing happens in Europe too and you just need to sift through the official sales data of all cars on our continent. This is true for example Fiat Punto, Lancia Delta and Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

In Europe, units of new Fiat Punto, Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Lancia Delta will continue to be sold in 2024

In 2024, for example, 9 were sold Launch Delta even though the car left the scene a long time ago. Most likely this is the last generation produced until 2014. Hopefully this is a good omen for the return of a new generation officially confirmed for 2028.

It is not known which generation and series these 9 units are. The same fate also befell the Alfa Romeo Giulietta which left the scene in December 2020 continues to record sales. So far in 2024 there have been exactly 6. Even the Fiat Punto and Grande Punto continues to record a certain success despite its exit from the scene in 2018. Around sixty units will be sold in 2024.

This phenomenon obviously does not only concern Stellantis but also other car manufacturers. For example, among the exiting cars that have registered registrations, there is also one Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin produced until 2006 and 4 Smart FouFour released from production in March 2023. In short, the most loved cars here continue to record sales even after many years of being released, unlike certain new cars which do not sell as much as hoped for various reasons.
