I speak to you with bread, silence that breaks between distant fingers. In different places we keep our soul, we dig to protect ourselves, we are a treasure chest for memory. I passed by you, you were distracted by a story, you were listening to the voice that was passing on and trembling. Everything comes back slowly. I no longer leave the words of my verses to chance now that every pain is meditated on

In this journey towards the center of the past time, a time that reaches us and we do not chase, the essence of a relationship experienced between a son and a father is filled with desire and understanding. Finding a table in the word, in which to share life and its absence, becomes an act of faith, as if poetry were the guardian of the unfathomable. Bread and father have the same root, “PA”, which means to nourish and protect and in this projection a circularity is created between generations, also looking at one’s children. The path unfolds, therefore, in the gaze sought and given, in which “being a child” becomes the privileged place of listening. Gianfranco Lauretano writes: «The book asks to be read, as if we were following the same mystery between the unspeakable and the flesh, as is every fatherhood and every poem that generates us».
