The Andersen Prize is the most prestigious Italian award given to the best children’s books of the publishing year, their writers, illustrators and publishers. Unlike other awards, the selection of the Andersen Prize does not take place through nomination or announcement, but is an expression of the daily work carried out by the editorial team of the monthly Andersen magazine – which since 1982 has been the observation point for the entire editorial production dedicated to children and young people – supported by a network of professionals in the book supply chain.

Starting from the morning of Saturday 25 May, it will also be possible to visit the exhibition of the works of the Il dreamlibro project, displayed in the courtyard in front of the Sale del Maggiore and Minor Consiglio. These are bookmarks made by over 30,000 children from Italian primary and lower secondary schools with a work on the pleasure of reading
