“Protected Zone” docu-series by young people for young people

Ten 25 minute episodes for ten stories of “boys and girls on the edge”. This is “Zona Protetta” – a docu-series co-produced by Rai Fiction and Kontiki Film – which tells of young people who have just turned 18 and whose entire adolescence, if not their entire childhood, is spent in communities for minors, under the protection of the State. From Friday 28 June available on RaiPlay, from Sunday 7 July broadcast in the third evening on Rai 3.
For an adolescent or a child, entering a foster home means being part of a protected area that can save his life but which is, at the same time, a difficult experience to share in front of the camera, with thoughts and reflections on their past and on the great desire for redemption with which each of them is preparing to face adult life.
This is the common assumption of every story that takes place in communities for young people considered “problematic”, or even “impossible”, sometimes taken into care from birth.
Each story, however, has its own specificity, with characteristics that make it unique, and each testimony leads towards a different ending, open to a new future. “Zona Protetta” aims to tell this uniqueness, entrusting the story of their experience to the voices of the boys and girls hosted by the communities.
Their stories were received by five young film-makers, directors of almost the same age who, from time to time, from community to community, got to know and tried to understand, even before giving back to the spectator, a fragment of those lives .
Five very young professionals trained in the best film schools in the country: Giulia Cacchioni (1994), Chiara Campara (1987), Giulia Lapenna (1996), Giansalvo Pinocchio (1997) and Pietro Porporati (1996); supported by Daniele Vicari and Andrea Porporati who oversaw the artistic supervision of the series.
The entire team of authors was able to count on the collaboration of Tito Baldini on behalf of the Presidency of the Italian Psychoanalytic Society. The music is signed by Maestro Teho Teardo.
