The fifth episode of the fourth season of The Boys is arriving tomorrow, June 27, on the platform Prime Video. And after confirming that the fifth will be the last season of the series, the creator and showrunner Eric Kripke also definitively confirms another piece of news which could represent a bitter disappointment for all fans of the original comiccreated by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
With a sensational plot-twist, the authors of The Boys they had in fact revealed that Black Noir it is a clone of Patriot (Homelander in the original version), as well as the true author of all his most brutal actions. The two super, version politically incorrect of the iconic Batman and Superman, two totally distinct entities will remain in the show, while our favorite narcissist, Patriot, will retain his role as the only and great villain of the series to the end.
«I’m not afraid to say it. In the comics Noir is a clone of Homelander and the whole time he was the one doing all those horrible actions. This is certainly an extraordinary plot-twist. As if to say: “Wait a minute, the one I thought was the villain isn’t really the bad guy.” I’m sure the fans will be angry about this, but for me it wasn’t satisfying. If I follow a certain villain I want him to be the bad guy, until the end. And what’s more, I say this even at the risk of sounding silly, the whole cloning thing seemed to me too magicalunrealistic for the show» clarifies Eric Kripke.
