The first edition of “Pomeriggio Cinque” hosted by Myrta Merlino ended with yesterday’s episode, Friday 14 June. News, however, never goes on holiday and, starting from June 17, Simona Branchetti will be at the helm of the summer version of the broadcast. The journalist wanted to thank the public and Mediaset for the opportunity given to her in this 2024 edition. Pier Silvio Berlusconi, for his part, expressed his esteem for the presenter’s work, confirming that Merlino will return to lead the program also in the next season television.

The final episode had the song “Che Fantastica Storia è la Vita” by Antonello Venditti as its soundtrack, while Myrta Merlino sincerely thanked – and almost moved – the audience who followed her after replacing Barbara d’Urso. The balance of the experience was therefore positive: “We have reached the end of this race, of this real marathon. In every self-respecting marathon, consistency counts, momentum counts, every centimeter of the road traveled together counts”, Myrta said to her audience. The presenter underlined the importance of the path undertaken, the changes introduced and the results obtained over time, highlighting above all the program’s commitment to reporting information and news in all its facets – ” because we are journalists,” he said.

Of course, this new editorial line of “Pomeriggio Cinque” initially aroused various reactions and took time to be assimilated by the public, accustomed for years to Barbara d’Urso’s way of conducting. Despite this, Myrta expressed gratitude for the support received: “Many of you have accompanied us and believed in this new Afternoon Five course. And I want to thank you. I am proud to have entered your home and your lives. I thank the publisher, the company, the whole team that enabled us to stay here for 200 episodes” – he concluded.
