The war continues, peacefully, on the Miss Universe catwalk. Next January 14th in New Orleans, Ukraine and Russia will compete in terms of female beauty. Miss Ukraine Viktoria Apanasenko and Miss Russia Anna Linnikova will be two of the 24 world beauties who will parade to conquer the crown of the most beautiful in the universe.
Last year the title went to Harnaaz Sandhu, Miss India. But this year, in light of the war that Russia has waged against Ukraine, many think that the beautiful Apanasenko, 31 years old, 1.72 meters tall, with a degree in psychology, will win out of international solidarity. Already around her name her social networks are unleashed, after yesterday she presented her official photo for the competition. Dressed as the Archangel Michael, protector of her country, Viktoria is represented as the “warrior of light” to “symbolize – says the caption of the photograph on Instagram – our nation’s fight against darkness”.
Viktoria’s costume was created by designer Lesia Patoka over four months, in extreme conditions, with the sound of sirens, no electricity and candlelight. It is composed of several layers, with gigantic blue and yellow wings, the Ukrainian national colors. “Viktoria – adds the caption – she has a weapon in her hands, and her body is covered in armor while, at the same time, she brings light through the darkness that has come to our peaceful lands with the attacker”.
Her rival, Miss Russia Anna Linnikova, 22, presented a photo on Facebook in which she is wrapped in a suggestive ruby-red velvet cloak, which some malicious people however compared to the color of blood. And her costume is inspired by the crown of the Russian Empire, the one Putin would like to recreate….
The Miss Universe pageant continues to be very popular and attracts an average of 500 million listeners worldwide at each event.
