VEZZANO. The staff is growing, the students are growing. Commitment is also growing, with increasingly challenging fronts, but the police movement is healthy, as confirmed in yesterday’s meeting in Vezzano.
The leaders of the 5,808 actual police officers (133 units more than the previous year) and of the 1,252 students (40 more) met in the assembly opened by the speech of the Trentino civil protection manager, engineer Stefano Fait and the councillor Giulia Zanotelliwhich brought the president’s greeting Maurizio Fugattirecalling the new provincial law for the simplification of the contractual activity of the various Corps and the initiatives and projects launched with the soles and the involvement of the provincial mountain basins service on the issues of climate change and the prevention of hydrogeological instability of the territory.
The president of the provincial council was also in the room Claudio Soiniwhich recalled the value of each Corps and the precious presence in each Municipality.
«In 2023 the various statutes and regulations of our fire brigades were adapted, bringing the maximum age of active firefighters to 65 years, but also recognizing the figure of “off-duty” firefighters – recalled the president of the Federation Luigi Maturi – and the presence and action provided by various bodies and districts was significant both in the flood in Emilia-Romagna and in the strong step of Modigliano (Udine). Then, last night, the awarding of of the various merits with the presentation of the bronze medal to the Capriana fire brigade, the first in Trentino to have started a team of students, and with the presentation of four “bronze crosses” for actions of particular value. There were 56 Golden Flames awarded by as many firefighters of the various bodies in Trentino for 40 years of volunteer firefighting.
Maturi presented the annual report, partly drawn up by the previous president Giancarlo Pederiva, which concluded its mandate at the end of 2023. At the end, the representatives of the 133 fire brigades present at the assembly approved the annual report and the final and budget budget which provides 687 thousand euros of ordinary revenue and 330 of extraordinary revenue. In 2023 there were 686 thousand euros of current expenses and 388 thousand of extraordinary investments.
