There is still great dismay in the country over the tragic road accident that cost the lives of Richard Legnani23 years old, originally from Garbagnate who lived in Rescaldina.
From an initial reconstruction of what happened, around 9:30 pm the young man was riding his Ducati Monster 900 along Via Cavour in the direction of the town, while he was coming from Rovello Porro. Investigations are still underway regarding the exact reconstruction of the accident, it seems that the young man overtook a truck but, when he returned to the road, for reasons that are still to be ascertained, he lost control of his vehicle.
The young man was then suddenly thrown to the ground, ending up against a low wall. The heavy vehicle did not hit him, in fact it seems that the truck driver managed to avoid hitting him. However, his conditions immediately appeared to be very serious.
Together with an ambulance from the Red Cross of Saronno and the medical car, the Como air rescue team arrived on the scene, with which he was urgently transported to the Circolo di Varese hospital, where the paramedics, despite the care that was immediately given to him, had to later confirm his death.
The Carabinieri of Turate and Mozzate have already started investigations to clarify what happened. The young man, who had studied at the “Verri” professional institute in Busto Arsizio, worked as a cook, was passionate about cars and motorbikes and in particular sports, had been a goalkeeper in the Master team of the Arese water polo team, managing to also achieve significant results.
“Riccardo was a stubborn boy who defended the Arese goal with passion and a smile, very present and always available, he will leave a great void, we loved him so much. A big hug to his family from all of Sg Sport”, the intense message posted on social media by the company where the young man had played.
«You were one of my boys when I was a manager – another of the posts published – fate was unfair to you but we will remember you for your will and the joy of being there. Have a good trip Riccardo.”
And again. “Grande legna was your nickname, you will always be in our hearts”, the memory of a friend. Riccardo’s skill was also appreciated by other sports clubs: “All the master water polo players of Canottieri Bissolati Cremona remember Riccardo as a very good goalkeeper who was also able to play outside the posts, we are sure that he will find a pool in heaven where he can play with the best water polo players in the world”. Condolences to the family were also expressed, again on social media, by PallaNuotoItalia Pni. “A very good boy and an excellent goalkeeper”, the memory of another friend. “There are no words in front of this tragedy, only so much immense pain”, was finally one of the touching comments posted in these hours.
