Which direction for the Union of Mountain Municipalities?

The electoral round of June 8 and 9 gives us back a Union of Mountain Municipalities of the Reggio Apennines a little different from the previous one.

In fact, if previously four municipalities were governed by first citizens of the Democratic Party and three by Civic coalitions, today, with the transition of Toano from DEM administration to civic administration, the relationship is reversed.

Will this affect the balance of management of the Union? The same question could also be asked about the composition of the Poles within the Union. A sort of minor unit to facilitate the common management of some of the services provided by individual administrations within the Union.

Today we have the Poles of Castelnovo and Vetto (DEM mayors), Carpineti and Casina (civic mayors), Ventasso (Civic mayor), Villa and Toano (a DEM mayor and a Civic mayor).

The current rotation of the Presidency of the Union, which has long since changed from a 4-year period to 1 year, does not seem to have further consolidated cohesion. Moreover, the next presidency, according to a pre-established calendar that should not be overwhelmed, after the succession of Vincenzo Volpi and Elio Ivo Sassi as DEM mayors, from the first of July will pass to Civic Stefano Costi, mayor of Casina.

With the new presidency, the new departments will then be assigned, which will have to take into account the curricular contributions of the new entries, Giuseppe Ruggi mayor of Carpineti and Leonardo Perugi mayor of Toano.

With the installation of the new government and the new council in the Union, the work of the ongoing activities (Internal Areas, Milk Mountain, Green Community, etc.) will certainly continue as per the approved projects while, for the new administrative-management planning, it will be necessary to wait for the program of the new President whose investment should take place at the beginning of July.
