To further clarify the dynamics of the facts and ascertain the causes and times of Christopher Thomas Luciani’s death, the autopsy on the body of the young 16-year-old will be decisive, entrusted to the medical examiner Cristian D’Ovidio

THE AUTOPSY
This morning the coroner Cristian D’Ovidio will be entrusted with the task of carrying out the autopsy on the body of Christopher Thomas Luciani. The results of the autopsy will help to clarify the dynamics of the facts and to ascertain the causes and times of the young man’s death.
Meanwhile, the two 16-year-olds held responsible for the murder are in the first reception centers in L’Aquila and Rome.

THE WITNESS: «EVERYONE KNEW WHAT HAD HAPPENED»
«I was astonished and didn’t have the strength to react, but when we rejoined the rest of the group everyone knew what had happened because I, who arrived first, told them about it. Despite what happened, we went to the seaside to swim.» This is one of the passages of the testimony of the 16-year-old who raised the alarm after the murder of Christopher Thomas Luciani, contained in the arrest decree of the Prosecutor’s Office at the Juvenile Court of L’Aquila. The boy, after swimming in the sea, once home, presumably three or four hours after the events, told his parents everything, making them discover what had happened.
“I didn’t react in any way,” the young man said again. «Christopher was making near-death noises and they told him to shut up. He was on the ground, with one leg crossed over the other, folded on the ground, exposed to blows on his right side. I was really distraught and realized it wasn’t something I could keep to myself so I talked about it.”
In fact, the alarm was raised from the witness’s confession to the father. During the interrogation the young man also showed the exchange
of messages with another boy in the group, which highlighted the need to report the incident.
The key witness to the crime, his friend said during testimony, once he emerged from the vegetation “was completely yellow in the face and looked like he was about to finish”.
“I can see that he is completely shocked,” said another young man in the group, interviewed by investigators. “We ask him what happened and he tells us ‘he’s dead.’ After a while they come out of the alley (also the two boys under arrest), I don’t remember the exact words they said. They made us understand that he is dead and that they had stabbed him.”

«WE DIDN’T THINK ABOUT CALLING FOR RESCUE»
“We didn’t think about calling anyone, neither the police nor an ambulance”: this is one of the passages from the testimony of a boy very close to one of the two 16-year-olds arrested, who confirms that the group of 16-year-olds, despite being aware of the incident, left the park, while Thomas’ body lay in the undergrowth, to go to the seaside “in peace”.
«At the seaside they told a summary of what happened. I know they were stabbed. That’s what I know.”
The boy also underlined that one of the two young people arrested «had a gun. He showed it to me after it was all over. He had it in his pocket. I don’t know how he had it. He told me it was unloaded, without shots.”
Another of the very young people involved, in his testimony, said he was convinced that the two boys now under arrest “had organized themselves for this thing, to meet this boy”. The key witness, i.e. the young man who returned home on Sunday evening and revealed what had happened, among other things said he was “sure” that Thomas «was dead, there were many stab wounds in front of me. For example, he had a stab wound to the abdomen, a stab wound to the leg, where the arteries are.”

THE BEACH PHOTO AFTER THE CRIME
A photo was found on the phone of one of the two 16-year-olds arrested for the murder, on the beach with a fist on his chest and a proud attitude, taken at 6.21pm on Sunday, shortly after the crime in the park. The smartphone in question is part of the material seized. The image is attached to the arrest decree of the Prosecutor’s Office at the Juvenile Court of L’Aquila.
The provision also includes some frames of images from the video surveillance systems present in the area of the park in which the group of boys, including the victim, can be seen inside the green area at 4.54 pm. Then some of them move towards the vegetation, where the 16-year-old was killed. They will then emerge from the vegetation at 5.21pm.
“The boy with the white sweatshirt and blue Bermuda shorts, later identified as Luciani Christopher Thomas, will never be seen going out again,” we read.
The images also allow us to confirm what emerged from the boys’ testimonies, namely that one of the alleged murderers changed in the vegetation before reappearing in front of the cameras.

THE BROTHER OF THE INVESTIGATE
“He is still my brother, I will always love him but he must pay the right price for what he did”: these are the words of the suspect’s brother, heard by Tg1. «He needs to spend his years in institutions where he can be helped. We don’t ask for discounts, we believe in justice. Now I have to deal with the ferocity and indifference that the investigations speak of. I cried for Thomas, me and my family are sorry first of all for Thomas because he is no longer here. Since Sunday I’ve been living hell. My brother is accused of this massacre and if he made a mistake he will have to pay.”
